There are Weekend markets on every weekend (generally between 8 am to 1 pm) rotating to different locations around the shire each weekend. For example on the first Sunday of the month the biggest and some say the best, markets are on at Candelo village.
On the 2nd Sunday of the month there are several markets happening at Pambula. The Merimbula Seaside Market is on the third Sunday of the month. Eden Local Produce Market is on the third Saturday of the month. On the last Sunday of the month the Bermagui Hand & Homemade markets are at Dickinson Park at Bermagui. Every Saturday morning are smaller markets in Cobargo village.There is a Farmers Market on Fridays in Littleton Gardens in Bega, where you can purchase fresh locally grown produce.

The Bega Valley has an active creative community.There is an “Art Trail” and a plethora of small eclectic art galleries all over the shire. The Regional Art Gallery in Bega hosts many wonderful exhibitions, the most famous being the Shirley Hannan National Portrait Award, The Shirl National Youth Portrait prize and the
